Sri Shiva Rudra Balayogi Maharaj is a Self-Realized Yogi and direct disciple of Sri Shiva Balayogi Maharaj. Originating from Karnataka, he was sent as a twenty-year old, to manage the ashram of his Guru in Dehradun, at the foothills of the Himalayas. There he spent twenty years in selfless service and meditation. Soon after the physical passing of his Guru in 1994, he entered a stage known as tapas—intense and unbroken dhyana (meditation), in which the mind is kept in perfect thoughtlessness. He then was absorbed most of the time in samadhi during the next five years. At the end of his extraordinary tapas, Baba Ji merged into the Self and achieved moksha (liberation).
Today, seekers from all over the world travel to the Dehradun ashram in search of spiritual guidance. However, Babaji also visits many parts of the world teaching meditation and continuing his Guru’s mission. He has established numerous meditation groups in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and around India.
